Arizona is a hissing snakepit of angry old white people (they are angry because they are literally being cooked to death) yelling at the immigrants and other Others whom they fear and loathe, and it is probably going to explode someday soon into a bright ball of orange fire and we will know that either the end times have come for us all or thank god we are finally rid of Arizona.
So of course they’re gonna bag on Arizona, because of course Arizona is the worst state in the union.
So … a preface. I have mixed feelings about meat and dairy — always have — for health, ethical and environmental reasons. Having spent a fair amount of time around farms when growing up, I support plant-rich diets and locally produced, humanely raised foods. But I’m hardly a vegan, and the search for information and misinformation continues. This article talks about how meat helped us in our history, but the expert quoted in the story is actually a vegetarian. I heard it somewhere, and it seems to ring true, that food is something that we consume several times a day and it’s a place where we have a huge chance to make an impact with our decisions — whatever they might be.
My second USA Today link in a row, completely a coincidence, from two different sources. These guys do produce some nice infographics, and I thought they used an interesting approach with this map of census data.
Already turning my thoughts to the future. Toronto (with a side of Buffalo) and Miami are definitely on my future North American travel destination list. Can’t say I’ve ever turned down an opportunity to visit DC, NYC or Chicago either.
